Start with what you will do most. The Original Puffy covers camping, picnics and everyday use. Choose Backcountry if weight and packed size matter, or Fleece if it will spend as much time on the couch as it does outside.
What is the difference between RenewaLoft™ and NanoLoft®?
What is the difference between RenewaLoft™ and NanoLoft®?
Both are synthetic insulation made from post-consumer recycled materials, so both are highly efficient at keeping you warm even when things get damp. The difference is how they feel and how they pack.
RenewaLoft™ is 100% recycled hollow-fiber insulation. It's cozy, lofty, and the reason the Original Puffy, Fleece Puffy, and Campfire Puffy are such all-rounders.
NanoLoft® is engineered to replicate the warmth, compressibility, and rebound of down, without the drawbacks of natural down. It offers more warmth for its weight and packs smaller, and it is used in the Backcountry and Travel Puffy.
For a single blanket suited to a wide range of uses, we recommend RenewaLoft™. For colder conditions or when pack size matters most, we recommend NanoLoft®.
Can I use a Rumpl blanket around a campfire?
Can I use a Rumpl blanket around a campfire?
Only the Campfire Puffy is designed for use near a fire. Its EmBarrier™ shell is ember-resistant, which protects against stray sparks. The shells of all other Puffy Blankets will melt if an ember lands on them.
Ember-resistant does not mean fireproof, so any blanket should be kept away from direct flame. When using the Campfire Puffy, face the EmBarrier™ shell toward the fire and keep the liner side toward you.
What size should I get?
What size should I get?
For most people, we recommend the 1-Person (52 x 75 in), which covers a typical adult from head to toe. The full range is:
- 2-Person (84 x 80 in): suited to sharing or to use on a bed.
- Compact Throw (38 x 52 in): suited to children, travel, the car, or the office.
- Mini (28 x 40 in): suited to pets and small children.
- Gametime Stadium (50 x 70 in): a throw size designed for stadium seating.
If you are unsure, the 1-Person is the best starting point. Buying for a couple? Go 2-Person.
What's the difference between the Original and the Backcountry Puffy?
What's the difference between the Original and the Backcountry Puffy?
The Backcountry is warmer, lighter, and packs smaller. In 1-Person, it's 1.76 lbs and packs to 5.9 x 14.2 in. The Original is 2.2 lbs and packs to 7 x 16 in.
It also adds a tougher 50D liner and a stash pocket for your phone or keys. The Original comes in more prints and more sizes.
Is the Travel Puffy warm enough for camping?
Is the Travel Puffy warm enough for camping?
The Travel Puffy is best suited for planes, trains, chilly cars, or whenever you need warmth on the go.
It packs to 4 x 10 in, about the size of a water bottle, and covers your lap and shoulders. For camping, choose the Original Puffy, Campfire Puffy, or Backcountry Puffy.

Absolutely! All Rumpl blankets can be used indoors. For dedicated home use, the Après Fleece is ultra-soft recycled fleece on both sides, and the Merino SoftWool is a blend of Australian merino wool and organic cotton.
The Fleece Puffy splits the difference, with
an ultra-soft fleece side for the couch and a weather-resistant shell side for outdoors.
